Paper Towns review

Well since my recent unemployment I have started watching more films whilst working on new projects. Browsing through the Sky Movie sets I came across Paper Towns – a film I have wanted to see since it was in the cinema. Began downloading…

What are my overall thoughts of Paper Towns? Well it was a really pointless film about a spoilt child that did not care for anyone but herself. It was ‘Romantic Adventure’ but it was basically about a boy that fell in love with a girl when they were kids, couldn’t get over her, she ignored him for years even though she lived next door. Turns out she needed him back in her life when she wanted to play pranks on people, just so typical. I felt like I had wasted time watching it and I nearly nodded off a few times but I persevered.

Hats off to Nat Wolff for playing such a sweet character (Quentin), you would 100% want a man like him in your life. I was sad Cara Delevingne (Margo) led him astray a few times, I liked her acting but HATED her character.

The film primarily focused on Margo and I just found it really boring, there was no climax in the film. I got excited when Quentin wanted to find her, he was working out her clues but it was all for nothing. He found her, she didn’t care and then the film ended.

I would NOT recommend this film, I haven’t read the book so I am not sure how different it is but that is one I won’t be buying. The rating for the film, I am going to go with a 2 of out 5, purely for the character development.

I’m currently unemployed too. It sounds like we are doing the same kinda thing – filling up on netflix, films and many more! Wanted to see paper towns but now think it might be a waste of time, so thanks. I was more interested to see Cara acting though

It sucks not having a job at the moment but I’m having an experience being an au pair so that’ll do for now 🙂 yes that’s exactly what I’m doing! It gives me an opportunity to write more and maybe get noticed? I’ve still got a long way to go though. Yeah I wouldn’t recommend it lol but it’s just my opinion!
